Nasum: A journey in the mind

Seeing from this post you might be like...huh? Nasum is a grindcore band from Sweden. Although they're not together do to the tragic death of Mieszko Talarczyk, their stunning music will live on in infinitum. I brought up Nasum because today I was fortunate to get Human 2.0 added to my Nasum collection; I have Grind Finali and Shift as well. There is many sort of styles of grindcore and how the energy is inputed into the listener. The way Nasum plays the style of grind is akin to a chainsaw cutting sheet metal. Now that may sound atrocious but bear in mind thats an analogy. The vocals are smooth, yet still hold to the guttural sound. The drums are arguably some of the fastest around, blastbeats and fast tempos abound. The guitars are very precise and has the straight ahead sound that fits well with the music. The bass is not too low and not too high but in a nice mid range. Overall the nasum experience is worht while. Albeit their earlier recordings were played in a different grind style, none the less Nasum has a sound to be reckoned with. I urge you to check out the website and any recordings you can get.

State Juristiction: A commentary

Well is seems there has been quite a clamor for Ed Brown. Let me just say right now I support Ed Brown 100 percent in this ordeal. This matter, I believe, will create a catalyst for discussion and introspection. According to the sources, Mr. brown and his spouse Elaine haven't paid income taxes since 1996. They wholeheartedly believe the Feds do not have jurisdiction in their state or property. Well, they are correct.

All across the nation men/women like Ed Brown are becoming active in militia groups in response to the growing menace of Leviathan. It seems there is growing consensus, among these groups that the Federal government has no power over them or the constitution needs to be upheld to its original intent. Ed brown himself is a spokesman for the Constitution Defense Militia. The militias are fighting for individual liberty, property rights, states rights, and the constitution. In my belief all these beliefs are noble and I only can place doubt on one of them.

The Constitution is a document authorized by the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and its purpose was to be the extent of the powers of the Federal government. There was arguing on all sides of the issue and there was a compromise reached between the Federalists and the anti-Federalists. The first authorized document was the Articles of Confederation, it wasn't very popular and that's why there was a meeting to discuss a new document of power.Originally the anti-Federalists felt that having a strong central government was a detriment to liberty and in the ensuing compromise a Bill of Rights was introduced.

Now lets put it in a new perspective. A group of elite men were gathered to decide the fate of a country and its people from the inception of that meeting. If anyone has ever had a business meeting or even a community meeting, this can be brought into a reasonable comparison. Now with a business, the meeting involves the ideas, perspectives, and analysis within that particular organization. That business can only control matters with in its own organization and has no say in regards to what John Doe and his family are doing. In a communitarian aspect, the local group of what ever proportionate size decides the outcome and dictates within their own organization and cannot dictate the ideas and thoughts over to a section of New Delhi, India. So is it possible for a group of affluent landowners to decide the outcome of around 3 million people at the time and to this day 300 million people? Was everyone in the country asked to give consent. The answer is NO. Government doesn't act direct permission in contrast to any other organization.

Now let me be clear from the onset, many of the ideas expressed in the constitution are ideals i feel is necessary for establishing harmony on Earth. Then on the other hand the Constitution speaks of ideas that are in a sense detrimental to the "natural order". Its sort of like how Bruce Lee viewed the martial arts world, pick the the things that work and trash the others that don't. That's how I approach the constitution. In fact, all the Constitution is is just a piece of paper. It can't hold back the tide of Statist power; it doesn't even have real authority. So if the Federal government is the logical outcome of the Constitution, then the logical conclusion is that the Federal government has no real authority. In fact no government, great or small, has any real authority. Its animation, like Mickey Mouse.

Real authority is established through property rights. Even then its in a sense a voluntary endeavor. I have a friend named Michael , we have a lot of disagreement in many respects. Now considering all these different ideas, one thing that is a surety among us is property. In his house he decides the rules of conduct and what is permitted and what is not. So in essence I'm under his jurisdiction, it wasn't forced but I walked into the house and agreed to the general outlines. Now he is not a hard ass by any stretch of the imagination but of course he doesn't want me to trash his abode. This is the way true jurisdiction works. Based on property rights. It would make no sense for a a million men in Turkey to decide the outcome of a farm in Kansas. Or even for a city or town next door to decide the fate of an individual farm.

My basic outline is this, jurisdiction of any sort can only come through A) Voluntary consensus(leave freely or enter freely) and/or B) Property Rights. The State has never in any sense had true jurisdiction over anyone any time or place. One of my inspirations for this article was from Lysander Spooner who wrote No Treason. In it he outlines how the State never had any real authority in the first place. It was people like him and later Ed Brown to really put a dent in the armor of legitimization that the State has brought about. Although with many disagreements Ive had with the militia I feel they are on the right page and I will support them 100 percent. Now its up to all of you to unveil the mask and relinquish your liberty.

Movie Review: Children of Men

So its a little past midnight and I decided to write the first blog of the day. Well about 27 hours ago, my friend Tristan and I went to see Children of Men. We were bored at his house and decided to stroll to the theatre. So we pay at 9:45 pm, sneak in popcorn, and sit down for the view.


Instead of a chronological analysis, I opt for a sort of "big picture" analysis. The main character is Theo Faron(Clyde Owen). The setting is London, 2027. Its a world where every female is void of fertility. No one knows why. There is no explanation as to why procreation is impossible. The audience and the characters in the story are perplexed. The world is a disaster, save a few countries and noticeably Britain, and immigrants from all nations are clamoring to be in Britain but are summarily deported, confined, or executed. The State is supreme and imposes its will similar to that of George Orwell's States in the book 1984 A very, very grim reality. A world where death, tragedy, and dispair are the norm.

So there is a fringe group in the movie known as the Fishers. Led by Julian Taylor(Julianne Moore),a woman with a past history with Theo. He is brought in an operation because of his links with key figures in the British government. Well tragic events happen and he is forced to run away with Kee(Claire-Hope Ashitey) because she is the only pregnant woman on earth. Subsequently, the baby is born and they're in a struggle to reach the Azores Islands where there is a project to save the future of mankind. The ending provides clues she did make the but it never shows the arrival on the island.

Well I found this film confusing at times but also enlightening. Now in regards to the structure of the film, the acting was crisp, the cinematography was fresh, and the plot went smoothly. My qualms though were the explanations. Like there is never an explanation of infertility, the backgrounds of the characters, or even the chain of events leading to the nightmarish world.
The way the bureaucracy exploited the citizenry and committed atrocities to foreigners was horrendous. I look at that part is a foreshadow of the future, the police state and all. I don't see infertility becoming the norm though. The story in this respect provides a social outlook at what is in the realm of possibility.

I see movies like this as of a higher calling to show the audiences as to what the world can be unless changed. All around you can see people rising up in upheaval, most noticeably in the concentration camp known as Bexhill. Everywhere there is some sort of insurrectionary practice, whether fighting the State with physical force or even minute as growing Marijuana, as in the case of Theo's friend Jasper Palmer(Michael Caine). Of course this wasn't the direction of the movie, the direction was toward a journey to reviving fertility so humanity can live. With eyewitness of the new born child the masses are swayed and given hope. I believe that was another subject that the director was trying to convey, that something so inspirational and full of grace can provide a renewed sense in the worth of the populace.

Overall I recommend seeing the movie and taking in the whole outlook and not just the story line. With the a few of the holes displayed in the movie, the overwhelming brilliance of the movie lies in the triumph of hope and the possible rise of liberty.

Intellectual property: A conundrum

So now here we are in the information age where information travels with great precision. In these times the various States have established legislation to quell "intellectual theft" (my words). I bring this up in regards to to a news article in regards to a subpoena brought against YouTube by Fox. According to the story, Fox media has demanded You tube to reveal the identity of "ECOtotal". Apparently, this user showed episodes of 24 before the scheduled premiere on January 14 on YouTube.

Now looking at the case I have a conflicting view on the case itself and not on the whole quandary of intellectual property. Now if it is an absolute fact that this user was able to confiscate episodes of 24 before airing, then I have to concede to the side of FOX. Reason being, the person took the video before it would have been aired to all of the TV audiences. Im under the impression that FOX had the video under safe keeping.

Now if it was shown onYouTube after the episode was aired, then I have to be on the side of the user ECOtotal. Intellectual property is a very touchy subject. Ill say this, intellectual property is a mundane term with no real substance. Property itself is an extension of a person on to anything that was A) Formed and manipulated from unused matter, B) Contractually given by someone down the line that followed A), and/0r C) A once used item that has been clearly abandoned. Ill digress and say that C can be very tricky to pinpoint, unless under objective circumstances. That will be another topic for discussion.

When you form sounds or vision, you in a sense release your property on anyone that takes it in mentally. Now one can argue that words, sounds, or vision is the product of labor and should not be taken by anyone, but when you openly state them in time, presence, motion, all those variables, you are letting everyone get a sense of your product. Since it can be processed naturally through the senses, then it becomes everyones property. A person can get a glance at a house but cannot objectively claim the house as its own. Someone can look at a computer but it doesn't mean its there property. When I buy a book, lets say from Stephen King, that book is contractually mine and the words are at my disposal.

Artist of our time: Domen Lombergar

Well it seems to me that alot of facets our time are lacking any creative direction. That's why there are artists in the world to show the masses what to look for in inspiration. Its done really well and in an inexorable fashion.

One of these artists that seem to spearhead the creative outlook is Domen Lombarger. A Slovenian that seems to have a knack for energy, exuberance, and an entrepreneurial spirit. He has had exhibitions for his artwork, does photography, and of course, the computer is his canvas where he manipulates perception into his vision. His artwork is a journey you take along with him into his visions, dreams, and nightmares. His considers himself a Surrealist artist so he has no barriers or limits; his mind is liberated thus. My favorite section is the Fantasy artwork. In here his manipulations are an ascension of the spirit. A particular piece I like is known as "The Inalienable Human Condition". It is so chaotic and full of life.

Well for everyone, Domen is an artist that you have to look into. I think you will understand as I did.

Creative Analysis

I was curious to see a site that had extraordinary artwork. So I came upon this site. Let me say first off that I am a big fan of artwork whether it can perceived through the eyes, ears,nose, or even the touch. As in the case of visual perception I am drawn to Surreal artwork and anything with a "dark" aesthetic.

So here I came upon this site called Creative Emotion and I was stunned to find how magnificent the work is. It is ran by an artist named "Lisa" and it showcases her photography, both analog and digital creations. Her photography is mainly picturesque frames of her surroundings with occasional pieces that involve fake blood. I was really turned on to her digital representations. These pieces bring in many ravishing elements; the pictures seem to take on fragmented emotions as if it were telling a story.

I recommend looking in this site and if all possible to buy here pieces. Or just take in the imagery and immerse yourselves.

Barbarian Overload

In a recent news story, the Mexican state has begun to impose a military style sweeping along its frontiers to combat "drug trafficking". The Mexican president, Felipe Calderan, has vowed to stop the carnage of drug related crimes. The U.S government is backing this endeavor fully and already 4 drug warlords have been extradited to the U.S. John Walters, White house anti-drug CZAR, stated,"Yes, there is some violence that is part of the process of taking these violent mafias to justice".


Wait..did I just hear CZAR Walters say they want to take violent mafias to to justice? Irony. The government runs on a model similar to the mafia. Extortion, threats, trafficking, all that good stuff.

You see this "drug war" is a tool for unhampered State power. It allows States to run military, authoritative directives on the people. They outlaw the use of drugs which allows the sleazy, ruthless, and malicious people to be involved in the drug trade and since their is no formal agreements or contracts they use violence and other acts to solve disputes. Think back to the 1930's when prohibition was the rule of law. So what happened? You had guys like Al Capone running a large style operation of prostitution and alcohol. When outlawing any sort of commodity it creates an artificial black market. Prices go up, quality goes down; it gives a few people, the people willing enough to take part in this black market, a monopoly.

Madness shall end but it must end with the onset of reason. The "drug war" is the antithesis to reason. For more on this lunacy go here, here, and here.

REVIEW:Electric Wizard-Dopethrone

Well there is few albums out there that can be considered as something keenly magical. When you listen to Electric Wizard-Dopethrone, you get this aura of magical delicacies all around you.

Hailing from England, the band goes forth to prove they are the "heaviest band in the world". Such a phrase they actually backup in Dopethrone. The first song you hear when listening is Vinum Sabbathi and has quite a parallel to early Black Sabbath. The second song Funerapolis starts out very slow, minimalistic; it builds up towards the end where you hear groovy riffs, enough to make you sway your head. When Weird Tales comes your way you get the stonerness getting right in your face. Very groovy and upbeat. Barbarian has that same effect on the mind but with a slightly down tempo pace. I, the Witchfinder is interesting because its so dark and has elements of Funeral doom in it. What I like about the structure is it has an atmospheric tone with hints of ambient at times. The Hills have Eyes! Just a movie and a nice little instrumentation. We hate You is something epic.Epic? Yes epic...and how. His vocals match very well with the strength of the song. Finally you get Dopethrone. What a song to end on. In essence its like the entirety of the album which it shares its name. It combines all the different deviations of the songs.

So in the end Dopethrone is an album to reckon with. Not for the faint of heart, or the impatient. This is an album for inspiration.

Last night, during my security post, I entertained the thought of writing part 2 of P of D. So I did, and here it is:

Challenge for power

So I was checking the news from Google and I found a news story that caught my eye. Well It looks like one of the more brutal governments in the Earth are getting stronger. With this in mind the U.S. government will react. Pretty soon we''ll have two gangs battling on the world turf. Now this is just a possibility. Governments are gangs but more sophisticated and tends to flaunt itself more.
The Chinese State apparently wants to use peaceful means for its inter State solutions. Building weapons and using the Mixed Economy to advance the causes of the State hardly seems like a peaceful solution to problems. In fact what is the reason for all this madness; what purpose is there for States to have arms races? The notion is is that arms and a strong military better protects there citizens from "enemy" States. This is what the State does, it clumps everyone together under the same banner and utilizes the collectivization to justify its own actions; plus creates more enemies. As Friedrich Nietzsche once explained,

"A state, is called the coldest of all cold monsters. Coldly lieth it also; and this lie creepeth from its mouth: "I, the state, am the people."
It is a lie! Creators were they who created peoples, and hung a faith and a love over them: thus they served life".

A State, like China or the U.S., is always looking to justify their competition for power by any means. It should not be a surprise to anyone reading. States look at each other as enemies and promote hatred among their slaves (people). For more on that subject read Mikhail Bukanin's scintillating article.

You not need take in by the fear of them and their organization known as the government. Does government protect people? I think not. Many avenues can be taken to protect yourselves/property without the protection of the politicians. Never ever listen to the soothing yet evil articulation of the politicians.BEWARE.

Concert Review: Neurosis, Red Sparowes, Grails

I came upon this show by accident. 3 days earlier I heard about the show through a Myspace bulletin through my friend Betty. It came at a coincidental time because I just started listening to Neurosis again. So I made plans with a couple people I know in Corona to go on a trip there. The night earlier I found out my car was leaking in the front. It wasn't too band and i was unsure if it was gas or not but I didn't want to risk that long drive. So I left a message telling the guy I was going with that we all had to take his car and to give me a call back as soon as possible. The next day I didnt get a reply but it said the message was read. Luckily before hand I left a bulletin about the Neurosis show and Betty replied asking if she can come along. I didn't know what was going on so we were discussing the situation. I didn't here from the guy so she opted that I come along with her to LA. So I made the drive to Fullerton, we went in her car and at 6:43 we were the first ones at the El Rey Theatre off Wilshire in LA.
2 hours or so later after standing in the Siberian weather we go inside and just feel the warmth. First band that played was Grails. Given that Neurosis was the headliner and they have alot of instrumentation int heir music, Grails was solely an instrumental band. They were very unique and played soothing, ambient style instrumentation. From time to time I went with Betty and Justin outside so I didn't absorb the whole experience.
Red Sparowes comes on stage and they reminded me alot of Neurosis but without the vocals. There was a projection right above the band of random images. Looking at the images I felt a sort of aura from the whole experience. The music and the visionary aspects provided a journey through the senses. I also noticed how the venue became increasingly crowded; the show was sold out a little bit earlier of Red Sparowes' set.
So then came the great Neurosis, their projection above them was circular as compared to the rectangular used by the previous band. I moved up to the front because I believe their is a better experience when you are closer to the band then standing towards the back. They played songs from all their different albums and I was well pleased because I only heard Through Silver and Blood. The band was succinct and precise; the projection added to alot of the feel. The projections were of a dark nature and it seemed like it involved the perilous emotions that exist in humans. My moment of neurotic glory is when they played Eye. Such an intense song.
When they ended there was this great warmth inside me that carried on throughout the night. After that me and Betty went back to Fullerton and then I went back to Corona. All in all it was a good show, good music, good visions, and why not...the quesadilla was bomb diggity! Fin.

REVIEW-----Rotting Christ:Theogenia

So my friend Jesse sent me the new album by Rotting Christ and in my expert opinion I give this album 2 thumbs up.^_^

What really set the tone for this album, for me at least, was the precision of the instruments mixed with the subtle rawness Now I will not lie, this is the first album Ive heard from them but in my defense its an album worth acknowledging. Hailing from Greece this is their 10th studio album and an album the singer,Sakis, mixed himself. They showcase their ethnic heretige in the album with a background choir singing in the Greek language. With this album, RC presented a clearcut Black metal album with all the elements you would look for. Atmosphere, musicianship, precision, brutality, and good production; its all here and here to stay. If you need an album to kick off the new year in style; get Rotting Christ-Theogenia.

Attack on U.S. Embassy in Greece: Wonder why?

Today an anti-tank grenade was fired in the office of the U.S. ambassador to Greece. According to officials the target was meant to be the U.S. Seal but just missed it and hit the office of the ambassador. Its been reported that a Marxist group named Revolutionary Action has claimed responsibility and is in the midst of a power struggle between various Leftist groups.

Greece has been a hotbed of resistance movements ever since WW2. During 1967-74 the country was ran by a Military dictatorship supported by the U.S. During that time anybody in opposition to the regime was tortured and persecuted.

This is a microcosm of how the U.S. government has infiltrated many countries and how the people react to it. Although I am never supportive of any Socialist fringe groups, I do see why they are hostile or the protesters. I mean if your neighbor came and infiltrated your house and established a presence,wouldn't you feel defensive?

iPhone is coming....

I stumbled on upon an interesting article and find myself amused and excited at the way technology has progressed. I remember in 1996 when computers were not nearly as powerful as they are now and far more expensive. Especially in a time when the dollar had more purchasing power then now. Now flash forward 11 years. Computers are far more superior, the Internet is in full swing, peripherals work better, and its all affordable. With the advent of the iPhone we are that much closer to a future a la The Jetsons.

Militarism: Machine of Freedom?

Of course this cannot be solidified as a genuine question. Nowhere can militarism advance freedom. It destroys the natural order of trade, commerce, and community; people are then pitted against each other as pawns by the State to fight whoever the State views as a threat. There is a brooding philosophy in this country that might makes right and loyalty to the State is the same thing as Patriotism.
From time to time I see stickers and banners saying "support the troops" and then I'm suddenly enlightened. We live in country where dissent as seen as vile and not supporting the troops is somehow fallacious. Well I'm going to say it...I don't support the troops what so ever. In fact I see the troops as pawns for the State to the utmost degree. They carry out orders without question, cause destruction and death for the State, and make a living through our taxes. Although, I will grant that some troops have been brave enough not to be inculcated by their superiors but those are the troops facing punishment. There is nothing productive about what soldiers do . In fact they destroy the production of all the people they invaded. What has more benefit: a store owner who provides nourishment and entertainment to his customers or a soldier that crush, kills, and destroys and doesn't provide any productive value. More on the brutal nature of the military I recommend reading Jeffrey Tucker and Laurence Vance. For those in the military who want to leave, you don't need to be there...LEAVE!
George Bush has put us in a path to destruction and I think this is the time to really look within ourselves and ask what direction do you want this country to go? Although any sort of government is not rational by any stretch, let us not be complacent to how this present regime has magnified the extent at which government works. Militarism cannot be seen as the hand maiden of piece, its the antithesis.

Such a man that is articulate in many avenues of intellect and study shall always be remembered. This is one great man. I 've read his articles "Re-barbarization of society" and "The right to ignore the State" and plan on reading much more. I implore you to read much of what he has written. Economic Retardation

There is no other way to title this post but the one your viewing at. Congress is gathering momentum to push the Federal minimum wage from 5.15 to 7.25 over a course of 26 months.
You might ponder and might reject," How could you be against minimum wage, that will raise the standard of living for the lower end of the production spectrum". Well....maybe not like that. Still though.
The idea of a minimum wage is absolutely absurd coming from many ideological fronts. From an economic view point the minimum wage will only push the costs for a business and there are many when running a business. Now of course there is the welfare of the laborer/employee. When the cost of running a business becomes that much more magnified then their has to be costs he needs to cut. Unintentionaly that can be at times the employee itself. If the business wasn't there in the first place to satisfy the consumer then that employee wouldn't have had a job in the first place or that one in particular. If the employee loses his/her job because of increased costs brought about by the State then where is the justice in that?
The other view that the minimum wage is wrong is because the State has no right to impose wage floors or any other restriction on a business. In fact the State has no right to impose anything or even exist; that will be for another topic. Lets say their is a man named Larry who comes up with a revolutionary product. He culls investors and other patrons to invest in his project . He is able to bring together the resources and build a factory. The factory employs the workers at a wage they agreed to in the first place. Now this entity known as the State comes into the picture and uses threat of force and violence to compel Larry into following guidelines and regulations. Overtime because of all the extra costs the factory goes broke and Larry has to close the place down. Is their any sort of justification for the State to invade his property? Is their any moral reason? Larry was the one who gathered the resources and hired the people to build his factory in the first place with no help from the state and the State feels it has a right to circumvent his property rights.
In the mean time we must be vigilante. Lets hope the minimum wage doesn't go up.

A journey through silver and blood: a review of Neurosis

Ah Neurosis. Ive had the album for about a year now and heard it off and on, hear and there. Then I just listened to it last night, Through Silver and Blood album, and I really listen to it. There is one thing to hear sound , instrumentation, and melody but its different when you listen to it. Neurosis takes you on a journey through the senses that inflame and enliven the imagination. Keep in mind I was not under any chemical influence. The music itself offers that drug like experience.
Now you might wonder who Neurosis is? They are metal band from Oakland , Ca and were formed by ex-members of Violent Coercion , Scott Kelly and Dave Edwardson, and Jason Roeder. They originally started out as a hardcore outfit in their first two releases but later went through experimentation and created a style heavily influenced by stoner doom, ambiance, and industrial. Although I haven't heard any other CD of theirs besides this; I will be sure to check the other albums as well. I highly recommend Through silver and blood to anyone willing to open their minds to brilliant sound and scope. Here is their website.

Darkness in the Digital world: The world of Ralph Manfreda

Every once in a while there is a person that explores the depths of the human condition and advances everyone else around him/her that takes part. Not too long ago I came upon a website named Cryptonaut that showcases the artwork by Ralph Manfreda. He currently live in Vienna, Austria and has done CD covers for bands like Pungent Stench or Belphegor. The pieces that he displays shows the breadth of Digital art and some of the masterpieces that are around in this age. I prefer the section known as Apocalypsis over the others because in it he shows humanoid figures and a surreal landscape that presents feelings of power, adulation, and eminence. I hope you grasp the same energy that I did by really seeing the pictures for what they are.

For every man to be armed.....

Recently the Ethiopian forces have driven the Islamic Courts out of Mogadishu and established a presence reminicent of that of past occupational forces in Vietnam or Afghanistan. So I came upon this news article through a google search. Apparently the interim government and the Ethiopians are currently trying to disarm the local populace. Though thankfully the people are not willing to give up their protection to an unwanted government and have been protesting and firing shots of their own.
In history their has been times when the government disarmed the people and subsequently tyranny came. Hitler, Mao, and Stalin all had disarmament programs and they brought terror to the native people that tyrants in the ancient of days only dreamed of. Here is an interesting article on the extent of gun control that involved the Armenians. If ever a government official declares to have your gun, point it at him/her.

This is a blog that Ive developed to present commentary, solutions, and discussions for 6 distinctive movements.

1. World News- The current events and stories happening across the known world from an Anarchist perspective. Given their is many perspectives on the phrase Anarchism, I am from the school of thought known as Free Market Anarchism where if Government were abolished in its entirety then the human race can adjust by the processes of interacton and transaction.
2. Philosophy- The major implications of philosophical proses and analysis on daily situations and some of the eithical/moral problems we deal with everyday.
3. Metal- The most extreme aesthetic known to man. Not only is metal covered in music but also in cultural implications, art, and literature. I will also discuss subsequently crust and grindcore.
   
4. Literature- Exploration of various written pieces and also as a writer myself I will post various stories, poems, and sonnets that I have written with links to various other sites of poets.
5. Art- Discussions of various channels of art and different masterpieces in our present time.
